It’s that time of year again! Yes, it’s true with the peak TV era on there’s always something to watch, especially on Netflix. However, there’s something different when fall comes around and our favorite shows return after their hiatus and we are treated to dozens of new shows piloting on TV and streaming services.
Here is my preview of the first episode of FBI, The Good Cop, New Amsterdam and A Million Little Things.
This is actually kind of good! It’s a show about the New York Office of the FBI, focusing on the Bureau’s skills, intellect and technology that keep NYC and the country safe. They took real world issues and weaved them into the storyline. It has some suspense, detective work, character-based intricacies and back stories that will be interesting to get the back stories on. This show reminds me of Criminal Minds meets Law and Order. So, if you enjoy crime shows and can take the sad reality of crimes that really happen than this is the show for you! The first episode was entertaining and there’s potential of this show getting better and better as the season progresses.
The Good Cop
This is another show set in NYC. The Good Cop is about an honest NYPD detective living with his father, a disgraced former NYPD officer. Ok, here’s the thing; this show is like a less funny version of “Monk.” Every episode has its own story and new mystery to solve but the somewhat lame humor, downright mediocre acting and less than good personal storylines for the characters makes this show good for sampling but not for binging.
This show is about a new medical director at America’s oldest public hospital and his efforts to heal the system while breaking some rules. Very realistic show; it reveals a lot about the health care system and hospitals in the United States. New Amsterdam is a beautiful show full of hope and potential to be a great medical drama!
The cast and characters are all great and very like able. The main phrase of the show is "How can I help you?" which is a question we should ask everyone. If you enjoy medical dramas, then this is definitely the show for you.
A Million Little Things
A Million Little Things is a show about a group of friends coping after the unexpected death of a close friend. It’s powerful and poignant. I didn’t expect to like this but this is actually really, really good. The storyline is well thought out, acted and told. This has the potential to be another great drama like This Is Us.
With so many great new and old shows starting up this fall, get ready to start binge watching!
