Many of you may drink coffee for the rich kick of energy, warm taste, or the sweet smell of grounds. After making a fresh pot of coffee, you can use those old grounds instead of tossing them away. You can enrich your beauty routine and benefit your wake-up remedy by reusing coffee grounds in these great D.I.Y beauty treatments.
The coffee grounds wash away the dead skin cells to produce radiant, smooth and healthy skin, making them an excellent facial exfoliate. Here is how to make an easy and fast exfoliating facial scrub at home:
4 tablespoons of coconut or olive oil
6 tablespoons of finely ground coffee (previously brewed grounds are fine)
3 drops of tea tree oil, or preferred essential oil
Once all of the ingredients are combined in a bowl, mix them all together until you have a liquid and pasty finished product. The scrub should look like the end result of pancake mix with a dark brown color due to the coffee grounds. After, store the scrub in a mason jar or an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator. This mixture will last for several weeks. To use, simply scoop a small portion and gently buff in a circular motion on face avoiding the eyes and leave the scrub on for 15 minutes. After, simply rinse off the scrub with warm water and you will have glowing, soft, and radiant skin. This scrub can be used twice a week for great results. I recommend that you wear a dark shirt while applying the scrub because of the dark color.
2. Want shiny, smooth hair?
The benefits and stimulating effects of coffee can be also applied to hair to give it that healthy, thick and shiny look. All you have to do is insert coffee grounds into your hair conditioner bottle, then put two to three pumps of the conditioner onto your hand. After, smooth the conditioner onto the scalp and gently scrub your scalp for three to five minutes. Finally, remove the conditioner. Not only will the coffee grounds make your hair smooth and shiny, it will stimulate hair growth. So, if you are experiencing hair loss or if your hair is taking long to grow, coffee grounds are the cheap and fast solution. For best results, try the recipe once a week.
