A Deeper Meaning: Ghosts of Lote Bravo

By Lola Olvera

Music: "Fishing" by David Szesztay

Cal Rep's latest play "The Ghosts of Lote Bravo" depicts the effects violence has in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Through interactions between Juanda Cantu and La Santa Muerte, we learn what happened to Juanda's daughter, Raquel, when she went missing one day. "Ghosts" sheds light on the very personal consequences of violence that often disproportionately affect women.
