20 Movies Students Love to Watch On Halloween


If you plan on staying in on Halloween here is one way you can get you fill of tricks and treats without ever leaving your couch. Here is a list of  movies to get you in the spirit of the holiday, courtesy of the DIG MAG Staff.

  1. The Conjuring(2013) - The Conjuring is the story of Ed and Lorraine Warren, paranormal investigators, who are asked to help the Perron family who believe they are being hunted.
  2. The Babadook(2014) - Described as the titular monster, the Babadook, a tall pale-faced humanoid in a top hat with pointed fingers who loves to torments its victims after they become aware of his existence.
  3. Friday the 13th (1980) -  A group of teenagers  are being murdered one by one by an unknown killer while attempting to reopen an abandoned campground called Camp Crystal Lake.
  4. Nightmare on Elm Street(1984)- Teenagers are having nightmares that are leading to their death, they are unaware of the cause of this strange phenomenon, but their parents hold a dark secret from long ago and why this is happening.
  5. Hocus Pocus(1993)- Three villainous witches are resurrected by a teenager and now are out to cause mayhem.
  6. Halloween(1978)- Fifteen years after murdering his sister on Halloween night 1963, Michael Myers escapes from a mental hospital and returns to the small town of Haddonfield to kill again.
  7. Crimson Peak(2015)- Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, an aspiring author retreats to a house bleeds, breathes and remembers.
  8. Scream (1996)-A year after the murder of her mother, Sidney Prescott is terrorized by a new killer. Now her and friends by being hunted using horror films as part of a deadly game.
  9. The Shining (1980) - A family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where an evil and spiritual presence influences the father into violence, all while his psychic son sees horrific creatures from the past and future.
  10. Halloweentown- (1998) After Marnie Piper learns she's a witch, she along with her joyful grandma must save the town from supernatural creatures.
  11.  The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1984)- After two sibling set off to visit their grandfathers grace in Texas, they are attacked by a family of psychotic cannibals.
  12. It Follows (2014)- A young woman is followed by an unknown supernatural entity after she has a sexual encounter with a man who passed the entity to her.
  13. The Blair Witch Project (1999)- A group of film students mysteriously vanish, the only thing left is a film where they were documenting the local Blair Witch legend.
  14. Paranormal Activity(2007)- After moving to a new home in a suburban area, a couple becomes disturbed when weird things start happening in their home, to better understand what’s going on they set up video cameras which catch a demonic presence.
  15. The Evil Dead(1981) – Five friends travel to cabin in the woods where they unknowingly release demons that possess living things.
  16. Poltergeist (1982)- A family is being haunted in their own home by the paranormal.
  17. The Exorcist (1973) – A girl becomes possessed by an evil entity, the young girl’s mother seeks the help of two priests who try to get rid of the demon possessing the girl.
  18. The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005)- A successful lawyer takes on a negligent homicide case involving a priest. The priest performed an exorcism on a young girl named Emily who died during the exorcism.
  19. Lights Out (2016)- Rebecca must find out why her little brother is experiencing hauntings from an entity that is attached to their mother.
  20. “It”(2017) – In a town that has children disappearing mysteriously, A group of young kids come together when they are targeted by a shape shifting demon who takes on the appearance of a scary clown.
