The 4 Best Local Sports Bars
Story and photos by Teresa Smith
Now that football season is in full swing, you’re probably looking for a place to have some drinks, hang out with friends, and celebrate your team. However, not everybody wants the same football experience. So depending on what you are looking for, this list covers the loud and rowdy, to the causal and mellow sports bars.
5236 E. 2nd St., Long Beach, CA 90803
If you are a football lover, then you are going to love this place: It has over 40 TVs that surround the bar and dining area. On big game nights and games over the weekend, they pull down their huge 326-inch projector screen to show the games in the middle of the bar area. They are subscribed to all the sports networks and offer 40 beers on tap and 14 rotating craft beers. Their $5 Bloody Mary specials on the weekends make it cheap enough for any student to have some fun. The inside of the place is also really cool; they have a private collection of sports memorabilia that covers all the walls. You will find everything from signed NFL jerseys to a 2001 IndyCar hanging from the ceiling. This place can sometimes be loud and rowdy during a game, but it can be insanely fun.
