Holiday desserts at local bakeries

As the holidays approach, our minds often turn to thoughts of the delicious cakes, pies, cookies and other treats we’ll share with friends and family. Here in Long Beach, we’re lucky to have several bakeries that turn out tasty holiday desserts. Here are five of our favorites: Bundts on Melrose bakes cakes in many flavors, including three holiday tastes: pumpkin spice, peppermint crunch and eggnog. Babette Bakery creates not only dessert and pastries, but also breads. Their French bread rolls are the most popular items during the holidays, along with the mixed berry tart, French macaroons and holiday cookies. 1404 Atlantic Ave.; babettebakery.com

Rossmoor Pastries makes decadent desserts, cakes and baked goods. During the Christmas season and wintertime, gingerbread cookies are this bakery’s hottest treat. 2325 Redondo Ave.; rossmoorpastries.com

Miss Priss Cupcakes and Such sells an abundance of different flavors of cupcakes and sandwiches. Their most popular cupcakes are the red velvet and classic chocolate. 4131 N. Norse Way; missprisscupcakes.com
